Bridging Borders, Building Breakthroughs: Highlights From Meeting in London

International collaboration fuelled face-to-face

In a world increasingly shaped by virtual collaboration, the value of in-person meetings remains undeniable. Face-to-face interactions foster deeper connections, spark spontaneous ideas, and create the kind of dynamic energy that drives innovation forward. For the eCAP project, these biannual gatherings are more than just calendar milestones, they catalyse the progress!

Last week, eCAP consortium met in-person in London 2025 for one of its pivotal in-person sessions, complementing the regular virtual meetings. The agenda was ambitious: reflecting on the recent reporting period, reviewing communications with the European Commission, and charting the commercialization pathway for eCAP, including market access strategies and long-term impact planning.

The room was alive with expertise, enthusiasm, and a shared commitment to transforming healthcare through cutting-edge technology. Each partner brought unique insights and updates, reinforcing the strength and synergy of the consortium.

Partner Contributions: A Snapshot of Progress

  • Institute of Image-Guided Surgery (IHU Strasbourg) unveiled the clinical roadmap, with trials set to begin in 2026 in Strasbourg, France. Their presentation laid the foundation for the clinical validation of the eCAP technology.
  • Tyndall National Institute, Sentron, and RDS showcased recent engineering breakthroughs on the capsule, delivery device, and mobile app. Together, they mapped out the next phase of pre-clinical testing, setting the stage for robust performance evaluation.
  • EnteraSense and Betthera led discussions on market evaluation, intellectual property strategy, and the commercialization and sustainability plan, ensuring that eCAP is not only innovative but also viable and impactful in the long term.
  • The Imagination Factory contributed creative insights on user experience and design strategy, helping to refine the product’s interface and usability for both clinicians and patients.
  • Olymed and OTPAK partners have made big effort on dissemination activities in Ukraine and Kenya respectively. These activities are crucial for expanding the clinical trials to both countries, and validate eCAP global relevance.
  • AMIRES managed the meeting logistics and presented upcoming communication and dissemination activities. A key highlight: eCAP’s presence at MEDICA 2025, a major international medical trade fair that will significantly boost the project’s visibility.
